Hurst was appointed as Principal
Contractor to refurbish Leeds Building
Society’s South Shields branch, delivering
a modern, professional environment
consistent with the Society’s brand. The
project included full MEP works, structural
alterations to accommodate a new lift, and
bespoke joinery manufactured in-house,
alongside new walls, ceilings, flooring, and
acoustic glazed meeting rooms.
Despite the challenges of a constrained

high street location, Hurst completed the
fit-out programme on schedule, creating
a refreshed space that enhances the
customer and staff experience while
supporting the Society’s communityfocused service.
